I’ve been fascinated by nature and photography since my childhood years in Portugal. I started my photography journey in the days of film, when I used to borrow my Dad’s camera - a reliable Nikon SLR. I loved the simplicity of the mechanics and also miss the light weight of the body and lenses!

My favourite photographic genre is Natural History. I am fascinated by the secret world of insects and their habitats and have developed a strong interest in closeup photography. I am also passionate about conservation and a firm believer that we all have a role to play in the preservation of our wonderful planet.

I am an active member of an iconic camera club, the Melbourn & District Photo Club.

I am also a member of the illustrious Royal Photographic Society, having been awarded their Licentiateship  in 2019 and Associateship in 2021. I have also received a Credit  from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain in 2022 and their Distinction in 2023. I was a Club Photography Competition judge from 2023-2025.

Favourite quote:
“Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty,
if only we have the eyes to see them"
— John Ruskin
